Everything I've tested.

A quirky speaker with a magnetic dial remote, slightly above average sound for the price and some useful tricks.

Nicely made and works well with the phone, but you are paying for software rather than materials and the style never made sense to him.

He prefers the rubbery sport band over the leather band, which feels cheaper.

A well-thought-out limited edition that he thinks is fairly priced for the extras, with a themed UI and a lightsaber-style red S Pen.

Aura glow finish matching the Note 10, with a matte grey case and pearlescent end.

Official silicone case with a ridged interior, good port access and feel; he prefers its feel to the wallet case.

Batches notifications and releases them at set times to curb constant phone checking.

A stripped-back home screen limited to seven apps that works and reports your usage.

Extracts text from screenshots so you can search and copy from them.

Not especially useful but insanely fun for distorting photos into tiny planets.

Adds a bottom notification bar so you can reach settings without stretching your thumb.

One of his favourites of the year, with the most convincing lighting and sky effects of similar apps.

A minimalist wallpaper generator that makes a new design with every tap, though some look empty.

A quirky photo editor with wacky filters that give a sci-fi poster look.

One of Google's best experiments, freezing the background so clips look tripod-stable.

A very cool 3D scanner for objects and rooms, though low resolution and mostly for fun.

The most fluid third-party gesture app he has used, though most features need the pro version.

One of his favourite AR apps, letting you see real sneaker designs on your feet.

A toolbox of Android mods, including forced rotation and a customisable ambient display, without needing root.

A lightweight browser that saves 30 to 40 percent of data and is an absolute must-try for him.

His favourite weather app, with sophisticated features and a clean interface.

An elegant, low-power live wallpaper that looks good out of the box.

An icon pack he rates in his top three of the year, helped by its good wallpapers.

Lets you see phone notifications and send files from a computer's Chrome browser.
