Apple Daisy Recycling Robot
I'd buy itI'd buy this.
Impressed by how quickly and precisely Daisy takes apart iPhones, though its capacity is tiny next to Apple's annual sales.

What I liked
- Disassembles an iPhone in 18 seconds
- Recovers pure, reusable materials
- Handles iPhone 5 to iPhone 12
- Capacity of 2.4 million iPhones a year, with room to spare
What I didn't
- Capacity is far below the 200 million phones Apple sells a year
- Many further processes are still needed to get raw materials
In my words
Straight from the video. Tap a timestamp to hear me say it.
“it's called Daisy and to visually explain what makes this such a massive leap above the normal recycling process”
“it kind of looks like it might take 10 minutes or so per phone but it actually takes 18 seconds”
