Samsung Galaxy Note 3
A used Note 3 at around £100 is a sweet spot, with a sharp display, a capable camera and decent performance, as long as you accept old Android and no warranty.

What I liked
- One of the first phones with 4K video
- More RAM
- Improved S Pen features
- Super AMOLED display with deep colours and inky blacks
- Higher resolution 13 megapixel sensor
- Beats the Mi 5X on picture quality
What I didn't
- Packed with bloatware
- Garish fake wooden box
- Colours too warm out of the box
- Slower shutter makes blurry photos easy
- Older Snapdragon 800 is slower
- Stuck on Android 5.0
