Sharp Aquos S2
I'd buy itI'd buy this.
Odd-looking phone with plenty of strange design choices, but the camera, screen and battery are good enough for a thumbs up at under $300.

What I liked
- Camera is good, with working portrait mode and fast video autofocus
- Bright screen with good colour
- Light and compact feel
- Comfortable day of battery life
What I didn't
- Odd camera and flash layout
- Third-party apps don't support the 17:9 aspect ratio
- Slight lag compared with a Pixel 2
- Glass feels a little flexy and plasticky
