I tested the Best $5 Gadgets Ever.

A $5 frother that does what he wanted for recreating a Starbucks mocha at home, and it is easy to clean.

Six-dollar elastic laces that he calls a game changer for running, as they never need tying.

A $2 drainer that keeps soap less squidgy and makes it last longer.

A $10 wall-mounted foaming dispenser that has already become central to his routine and does not feel like a gimmick.

A 50 cent phone holder he considers one of the cleanest ways to store a phone, with a neck to wrap the cable.

A tiny, good-value luggage scale that helps him avoid airport overweight fees.

The most versatile cable he has seen, with swappable magnetic ends, a rotating head and 60W support.

A $2 set of flexible straws for a vacuum hose that reaches tight spots without sucking up your belongings.

Not great sounding, but at $5 it makes sense as a way to boost your phone's volume in the shower.

A sponge on a refillable handle that he calls the most handy product of his university life.

A $2 four-pack of surprisingly strong suction hooks that has become a staple in his shower.

A tiny 4cm cable that looks like a USB stick and lets him top up his phone from any standard USB port.

His number one pick, a sink-mounted glass rinser that cleans glasses very quickly once installed.
