Asus ROG Phone

I'd skip itI'd give this a miss.

After over a month with it, he found the ROG Phone impractical, with a barely overclocked chip and expensive accessories.

Head to head

What I liked

  • 6,000mAh battery
  • Can do more than standard flagships thanks to accessories
  • Good cameras
  • Vapor cooling chamber
  • 90 Hz display noticeably smoother
  • Side-mounted charging port

What I didn't

  • last generation Snapdragon 845 chip
  • Much more expensive at $899
  • Overclock is only 0.16GHz over other phones
  • Worse gaming performance than iPhone XS
  • Accessories are expensive and impractical
  • Performance similar to Note 9 or OnePlus 6T

The ASUS ROG Phone is RIDICULOUS.

A ridiculous, niche gaming phone with impressive gamer-focused features, though the overclock adds little over rivals.
