Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus

One of the best displays on the market, with a camera that keeps improving through updates and good battery life.

Edged ahead of the Note 10 Plus by a negligible margin, so battery should not decide between the two.

A really good, slightly smaller option if you don't care about 5G.

Much lighter and more comfortable than before, but the awkward power button and weak night mode are disappointing.

The Exynos S10 Plus trails the others in several speed tests, with occasional gaming frame drops and a slower unlock.

Lasted about half an hour longer than the OnePlus 7 Pro, held back by its high-resolution display.

Best for daytime photos, raw detail and front-facing video, with the widest ultrawide, but it falls behind in dim light and at night.

A more complete and tougher flagship with wireless charging, IP rating and a better selfie camera, but slower charging and over £200 more expensive.

Capable flagship with the best video features and natural-looking photos, but beaten by the Pixel in night selfies and by the Huawei in zoom and low light.

A well-rounded phone with consistently good photos, strong battery life, natural-sounding speakers and a superb display.

Used as the benchmark for the S10 5G, described as already bright and considered by many the best phone of 2019, but with an awkward power button.

Second place with over seven hours of screen-on time, and he calls it an absolute tank for battery.

Very capable all-rounder with the best selfie portraits, front 4K video and slow-mo quality, though night shots are grainy.

The more balanced phone, with a better display, stronger performance, headphone jack, better speakers and a 5G option, though it lags on night photos and zoom.

The phone he uses to demonstrate the customisations, with the transparent wallpaper hiding its punch-hole camera well.

Impressed him with sharp subjects in low light and cinema-quality colour straight out of Filmic Pro on the rig.

Strong all-rounder that wins AnTuTu and downloads and sustains performance well, but has the slowest storage and slowest app loading of the three.

Reviewed with six things he loves and two he dislikes, though the specifics are not available without a transcript.

Strong all-round camera with a standout front camera and good low-light shots, but autofocus, night mode and portrait mode are inconsistent.

A leap forward over the Note 9 with a better screen, battery, chip and cameras, and the better choice for most people.

Beats the iPhone XS Max on display, charging, design and price, though camera quality needs more testing and software support is shorter.

Mentioned as one of the four expected S10 models, likely getting the Infinity-O display.
